PDF: FBI Seal and Badges: History
>>> Under the Freedom of Information Act, I asked the FBI for "any guides, reports, or histories that show patches, badges, medals, and other insignia worn by members of FBI and predecessor agencies."
I was sent two PDFs containing a hodge-podge of documents. I combined them into one and tried to create some kind of logical order. There are four or five articles here. Two of them are definitely from FBI's defunct internal magazine, The Investigator, and I'm guessing the others are as well. Then there's a six-page memo on the history of FBI badge policy. The final page is a memo about the first three FBI badges.
